Functional Blogging with CrossConnector
July 29th, 2005
I joined the world of blogging only a few weeks ago, and now I am busy keeping up my very own blog and reading others that interest and inspire me.
It is a wonderful idea – a way for the average person to publish their own writing, and especially for people to connect and share with each other without regard to distance. I recently discovered that the new generation of missionaries is creating blogs in order to share stories, pictures, and important news of their work overseas. What a perfect way for missionaries to instantly communicate with many people at once.
On the other side of the office, Ryan is sitting at his desk programming away as he creates CrossConnector. In the ten months we’ve been married, I’ve learned the meaning of phrases such as “Ruby on Rails” and “beta testing”. But, now I have created my very own title – “Functional Blog”. That is my definition of CrossConnector.
It was one of those light bulb moments – I realized that people already understand the value of having a blog. Ryan is designing CrossConnector to include easy ways to share information with other people, just like blogging. But, CrossConnector is so much more – it combines a planning and organizational tool designed just for people who do missions with the writing and sharing benefits of a blog.
